Schmitz Preserve Park Forest Mural

Located at Alki Elementary School in West Seattle

This mural is based on Schmitz Preserve Park, a naturally wooded park with hiking trails near Alki Beach. The students of Alki Elementary drew pictures of plants and animals that they expected to see in the forest. I traced the students’ drawings and included them in the design, which the students painted with teaching artists and parent volunteers. Created in collaboration with Alki Elementary School and Urban ArtWorks.
